Before all the top Week 6 college football matchups on Saturday, two premier high school teams filled with the next generation of collegiate stars will square off on Friday night. The top teams in the MaxPreps national football rankings, No. John Bosco Bellflower, Calif. Mater Dei won a state championship last season against the Servite Anaheim, Calif. Follow it here. Step 1 of Bosco’s revenge tour this season is complete, following a dominant win over Servite last week. The impressive defensive showing was spear-headed by junior linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa , who finished the game with an interception and 12 total tackles.
Viliamu-Asa is a composite four-star recruit in the Sports football rankings, with close to 20 offers from Power Five college football programs.
Mammoth defensive tackle Vaka Hansen also made a huge impact with 11 total tackles at the line of scrimmage. Hansen doesn’t have as extensive of an offer list as some of his high-profile teammates, but he does hold offers from Fresno State and TCU.
He is joined on the defensive front by composite five-star defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei , as well as Washington commits Sua Lefotu and Deven Bryant. Follow St. John Bosco’s game here. Sophomore linebacker Nasir Wyatt had a sack and five total tackles, including 2. Wyatt is already marked as a five-star prospect in the Sports composite football recruiting rankings, and he has seven sacks with 15 tackles for loss on the season.
Wyatt is part of a stacked group of Mater Dei linebackers that also includes four-star senior Leviticus Su’a , and junior three-star prospect Ramere Davis. The strength of Mater Dei’s roster comes from its junior class, which also includes four-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland , and a pair of four-star cornerbacks in Brandon Baker and Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins. The Monarchs almost got caught in a lookahead spot last week, but will be motivated to continue their recent success against Bosco on Friday night.
