Choosing a contractor can be the best, and the most irritating, aspect of real estate investing. The contractor search and estimate gathering does get relatively smoother as you get better at sizing up your future “temporary employees.” After doing this for a while, I have new respect for hiring managers in corporate America. Good workers can be very hard to find.
This blog posts delves into the details and gives some great tips on weeding out the bad contractors, and choosing the best contractors with a track record. Also if possible, remember to ask for pictures or references of previous jobs (most of the contractors have a few on their smart phones nowadays).

I have never heard of Service Magic but I love Angie’s List! It is a very
efficient and easy way to find qualified contractors. Like you I will only
deal with a contractor from Angie’s that averages 5 stars. I don’t see any
reason to waste my time talking to the other guys. For, any newbies only
deal with the five star contractors and always get quotes from at least 3
contractors because like Lisa said the prices can vary widely between each
contractor.
Lisa your videos are really informative and detailed. I love the way you
are so diligent and passionate about the information you share. I’m
currently still living overseas, but I am so excited to finally move back
to the states and try my hand in the real estate market. Thanks for all
your hard work. I watch your videos religiously. By the way I finally read
the Rich Dad Poor Dad book and it was inspirational and very enlightening.
You are really making a difference. Thanks and take care
