Despite what people think about the neighborhoods that I invest in, with finding investment properties under $30k, the truth is that the thought of “Section 8” renters and what that comes with just isn’t the case. I put “section 8 ” in quotes because its a loaded term and I don’t agree with how everyone uses it to judge a potential tenant.

What’s been going on in my working class neighborhoods is that section 8 renters are moving to larger, newer homes in the suburbs, and tenants with solid and respectable careers are moving into these renovated homes to save money (remember, this is in context of the foreseeable next 20 years of wage stagnation if not deflation, but all living costs and supplies are inflating: This corresponds to people moving to cheaper housing to maintain cost of living).

Thanks for tuning in, I hope you enjoy the episode!

Great post and very true. The migration of Section 8 from the urban core into the suburbs is a very real and under reported trend. In Cleveland many Section 8 tenants have moved out of the city and into the inner ring suburbs raising rents across the board. Note: An “inner ring suburb” in Cuyahoga County are the older suburbs (sometimes called First Suburbs) that actually touch Cleveland city limits. These suburbs are the place to be if you want to find a good house for under 30k in Cleveland.

I wish I could talk with you. I am at a point where I need to decide on if
I should rent or sell two houses. I think renting is a better deal but I
have no knowledge of where to start.

I didn’t know this program got this big, until I found a video of Rush
Limbaugh video clip up here about section 8 moving out the ghetto!!! Him
and the comments actually made me write a pretty lengthy reply….which I
accidentally deleted when checking the spell and grammar check right before
    I posted lol.

That s the validation I needed to hear, especially since I just got email
from CHV stating that I made the waiting list. In my case, My family is in
the upper middle class income bracket, but the only way for me to move out
on MY OWN was to apply. The segment only discussed disability when he said
some general statement referring TBI survivors as “RETARDS”!!!!
I had my Aneurysm senior year of college back in 01,had to learn to speak,
walk, write again from scratch, graduated in Fall 2005, learned to drive
and got license renewed, and got job, all before 2008!!! He got me heated
    over here lol!!!

Confused to what I watched. Is this just good ol fashion shade?! Was this a
warning or informational video?! I was looking for information, that I
could’ve received better if I didn’t hear the negative connotations.
