Choosing Potential Over Negativity
Once she was searching outside of her typical locations, Rosalind came across a duplex. Forty-five minutes from where she lived, it was here that she first thought, “Maybe I can do this.” She admits that in the past, she would have focused on what she didn’t like about the property, as opposed to the potential that was there, possibly hidden underneath a shoddy exterior, or other issues that required fixing. Using what she’d learned from her coaching sessions, Rosalind reached out for help and had a friend in construction to look over the house. By choosing potential, she saved money and found a good investment that she might have otherwise walked away from.
Analyzing the Neighborhoods
Rosalind learned how to survey an area; how to look for certain properties that might be worth investing in. This knowledge also gave her more confidence. Once, she was looking at three at the same time, with the potential to bid on at least two. One was a foreclosure that already had an offer, so she had to make a decision: move on, or spend time and money?

Getting Answers to the Hard Questions
Since Rosalind joined the Program, the road’s been easier because she has the information in front of her. She can ask Lisa questions to help with certain things whenever she was unsure. The weekly group meetings were extremely helpful, not only because of the easy access but also because she could hear about other people’s journeys. She began to realize that “there are a lot of us out here that want the same things. I love being able to see how people handle their situations, because I can learn from this person, and that person.”
