By Jesus Enriquez. Oct 6, As we pass the midway point of the Texas high school football regular season, the top-ranked teams from the DFW area continue to show why they are highly ranked. Once again, all ranked teams from the DFW area won their Week 6 district matchup except for one, who lost to another ranked team.
In 5A Div. II, Colleyville Heritage was ranked No. Prosper Rock Hill held a lead at the end of the first quarter, but Allen turned it on the rest of the way to remain undefeated in District A with a decisive home win. Allen , District A was led by quarterback Mike Hawkins who completed of passes for yards and three touchdowns. Washington finished with yards receiving.
Kayvion Sibley also helped power Allen to the win over Rock Hill , with yards rushing and one touchdown. Next, Allen will host McKinney , in a clash with serious playoff-seeding implications for District A. Highland Park led entering the final quarter, but four unanswered touchdowns from Jesuit changed a blowout into a one-score game, forcing Highland Park to eke out a home victory.
Highland Park , District A led at halftime as running back Jay Cox had two short first-half touchdowns run, while quarterback Brennan Storer connected with Luke Herring for a yard score in the first and ran in a touchdown at the end of the second.
Storer linked up with Cox for a yard touchdown with left in the third to make it a game. Jesuit was considered the biggest threat to Highland Park in District A. Highland Park is now expected to cruise to a district title with the win.
Rockwall , District A got big performances from running back Ashten Emory total yards , receiver Noble Johnson four catches, 99 yards , and quarterback Lake Bennett passing yards, 68 rushing, and three touchdowns.
Horn , , off to its best start since under first-year head coach Courtney Allen, fought back from a deficit to take a lead less than four minutes into the third quarter.
However, a fumble recovered by Rockwall set them up for a touchdown to regain the lead. Running back Parker Polk rushed for yards and three touchdowns to help Grapevine defeat rivals Colleyville-Heritage for the first time since Grapevine , District A Div. II led by one point at halftime before exploding to score 23 second-half points to seal the win.
